Willie Mellina

Born in Waco, Texas, Willie Mellina is a classically trained actor and multidisciplinary performer whose work spans film, television, theater, music, and dance. He is perhaps best known for portraying George Washington in the historical drama series Washington’s Armor, a role that showcased both his commanding screen presence and versatility as a performer.

Willie discovered performing at age 20 and quickly immersed himself in the craft, ultimately earning his bachelor’s degree in Film and Musical Theatre from the University of Oklahoma. His extensive training encompasses both classical and contemporary acting, including Stanislavsky, Meisner, Shakespeare, improvisation, scene study, and acting for film, as well as voice, diction, dialect, and stage movement.

His stage career has given him the opportunity to perform alongside celebrated Broadway talent, including Tony Award nominee Tony Yazbeck, and to work under the direction of Tony Award-winning actor and director Billy Porter. A true multidisciplinary performer, Willie has also trained extensively in dance—including tap, jazz, ballet, and hip-hop—and vocally across musical theater, classical, pop, country, and rock.

That versatility extends beyond the traditional stage. Willie brings experience in stunt work, fight choreography, gymnastics, athletics, and both English and Western horseback riding to his performances, giving him an unusually broad physical vocabulary as an actor.

In JUST ONE LIFE, Willie takes on the role of Sam, bringing warmth, sincerity, and a grounded emotional presence to a story exploring love, loss, human connection, and the profound impact one life can have on another.
