The Power of Water in the Mission Field - Jesus Wells
Unclean water is a leading cause of preventable deaths in the world. Between 1.2 million to over 1.6 million deaths annually can be attributed to this problem. But the effects of unclean water go way beyond death:
What should be a basic human right is leaving many communities open to multiple problems and prevent moving ahead, for example:
Access to water eliminates deadly diseases like cholera and diarrhea
Girls usually retrieve the water, leaving them open to wild animal attacks and exploitations of others, while keeping them out of school
Clean water allows communities to thrive by giving them time to raise crops, livestock, and have wealth building opportunities
Provide for greater sanitation, human dignity and better hygiene
Allow people to grow and irrigate their own gardens and provide year around food
Better hygiene, less medical costs
