An Unexplainable Life
How many wrong roads have I traveled to live the life God wants for me? Many of us can make a long list. Erica takes us through the first 12 chapters of Acts and guides into the work of the Holy Spirit to help us understand how our lives can be changed.
A verse that helps me is Colossian’s 2.6 (NASB): “Therefore, as you have received Christ Jesus the Lord, so walk in Him,” Here Paul tells us what is simple and hard. We are to daily walk with the Spirit in the same way we accepted Christ. Meaning we have to humbly believe we can not do what we are called to do and ask him for the power to do it. Each moment is a gift of dependence on God and receiving his gift of a changed life. No wonder Jesus said he yoke was easy and his burden light, we take the step of belief and he empowers us to do it in a way that brings glory to him.
Walking is not easy, at least at the start of life. You are learning to fall forward and having faith that your leg will following the command of the brain and go out and catch you. Once you have it down it is more like breathing, until obstacles come in your way and you learn how to navigate them and you grow.
Paul used walking purposely. This is our way with God. Admit inability, step out in faith, and expect the power of God to uphold his humble servant.
The result. People see a life that is unexplainable by any other means then the divine.
