Iran’s Great Awakening with Dr. Hormoz Shariat

In John 4.35 Jesus says to his disciples, “Don’t you have a saying, ‘It’s still four months until harvest’? I tell you, open your eyes and look at the fields! They are ripe for harvest.”  Iran.  Not exactly where you’d think the fields would be ripe for harvest. Yet, they are so ripe, the problem is not evangelism, but discipleship. So many new believers and not many with depth to teach them. Thankfully, one benefit of the coronavirus is people watching Hormoz’ Iranian Satellite TV where they can learn more and grow.

This, along with a promise from God in Jeremiah 49.34-39, has Hormoz believing and declaring that Iran, ancient day Elam, will become a Christian nation in the last days. It says in verse 39, “But it will come in the last days that I will restore the fortunes of Elam.” And previously in verse 38, “I will set My throne in Elam.” We know we can count on the Lord to come through. Let’s pray for continued growth, increase in understanding for Iran and the work of Hormoz. Let’s also prayer for our eyes to be open to the great opportunity we have here. The current pandemic is opening possibilities, let’s not fall into the trap of thinking it is four months to the harvest.
