HEAVENQUEST: My Progress as a Pilgrim

As I was thinking about Matt’s work following his passion on HEAVENQUEST, and his desire to bring the 2nd best-selling book of all time, The Pilgrim’s Progress – written in 1678, into the 21st century, I couldn’t help but think about how I might be stuck.   Am I using fresh illustrations and allegories in helping people connect to the Good News (that’s what Bunyon was doing)? Do my examples seem out dated to the people I’m around (unless they are my same age)? Matt realized the lack of Christian influence in the Sci-Fi and Fantasy realm, what niche am I overlooking?

I’m not talking here about doing whatever the world does, but instead, reaching them in places that may have been overlooked. Jesus pushed the envelope by going out with tax collectors, drinkers, prostitutes, and more. Matt is pushing into fields in need, how about me?

God puts us in areas that fit our needs and gifts. That doesn’t mean comfortable. I just want to make sure I leave myself open to paths that I might not feel equipped for but he wants me to head down, depending on his strength to do something different. Matt, thanks for the wake-up call!
